The very first leisure-map of the Balaton arrived

The year of 2020 is milestone not only for Hungary but for the whole world. Everybody fights against the unfortunate situation that was caused by COVID-19. Tourism is one of the most suffering industry. In that crucial period, a new, Hungarian startup came up with new ideas which help to the tourists and to the local businesses. Move in Balaton (MiBo) is the very first site including the map itself which covers Lake Balaton and its surroundings by showing the services in connection with leisure, sport and holiday.

 “Lake Balaton is the Riviera for me.” – as the known, Hungarian song says. Lake Balaton and the neighborhood face such a challenge that never had to. The coronavirus did not spare the Carpathians. Although the idea of Move in Balaton was born before the disease has arrived to Europe and has quarantined people, the goal did not change for a while: helping the tourists to find the place they would like to go, with only a few clicks.

You only need to visit MiBo’s website ( www.mibo.hu ) and you will find the service providers sorted by towns and functions. Moreover, an interactive map helps you as well. From the map it is only one more tap and you are on your way while the GPS lets you know about the next curve. The aim of the Hungarian team who came up with the concept is to gather every rental of bicycles, waterpedalo, surf, SUP, air balloon, sailboat as well as horse ranches, water taxis, adventure parks, golf courses, go-kart tracks and many more service providers in different activities. 

One of the long-term intention is to transplant the database and the map into an application to every platform and to organise leisure and sport events together with the local units.
